Boeing Humiliates Donald Trump With A ‘FACT CHECK’ Of His Morning Tweet

December 6, 2016

Donald Trump is dishing on Boeing for the cost of building two new Air Force One airplanes. The Chicago-based company has the contract to build the new presidential planes at a huge over-cost Trump says.

Trump tweeted Tuesday morning that he wants to cancel Boeing’s contract, saying that the new Boeing 747 jet for “future presidents,” and the cost is already “more than $4 billion:”

“Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!”

When Donald Trump was asked about the tweet by reporters, he had this to say:

“Well the plane is totally out of control. It’s going to be over $4 billion for [the] Air Force One program. And I think it’s ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money.”

Trump did not tell them why he thinks the new plane will cost over $4 billion. Seems to be a bit exaggerated.

The Air Force has contracted with Boeing to build two new white 747-200Bs to replace the existing planes. The planes’ budget is $2.9 billion through 2021. But the two planes will not be ready until 2022.
